Who we are

BurnClock is a workout interval timer application for iOS and Android, developed and operated by FriendsLog LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use BurnClock.

By using BurnClock, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

What data we collect

BurnClock is designed to respect your privacy. Here is a plain-language breakdown of what we do and do not collect.

No account required No email address No payment data No location data No contacts or microphone (beyond voice cues)
Data type What it includes
Crash reports Automatically collected via Firebase Crashlytics when the app crashes. Includes device model, OS version, and a stack trace. Not linked to your identity.
Performance data Anonymous app performance metrics (startup times, screen load times) collected via Firebase Performance Monitoring.
Usage analytics Aggregated, anonymous events such as which screens are visited and which features are used, collected via Firebase Analytics. No personal identifiers are attached.
Workout data Workout timers and configurations you create are stored locally on your device only. We cannot access this data.
Voice cue audio Voice countdown cues are generated and played on-device using the system's text-to-speech engine. No audio is recorded or transmitted.

How we use your data

The limited data we collect is used solely to:

Diagnose and fix crashes Improve app performance Understand which features matter

We never sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with any party for marketing purposes.

Section #4

Data sharing & third parties

We use the following third-party services, each operating under their own privacy policy:

Firebase (Google)
Provides Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Analytics. Data is processed by Google LLC under their data processing terms. firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Apple / Google
App distribution via App Store and Google Play. These platforms may collect their own telemetry per their respective privacy policies.
Google Forms
Powers the optional feature request form linked from our website. Submitting a request is entirely voluntary. No email address is required or collected. Any response you submit is processed by Google LLC under their privacy policy. policies.google.com/privacy

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to any third party. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Section #5

Data retention & deletion

Crash logs and analytics data are retained for up to 90 days within Firebase, after which they are automatically deleted. Workout data lives entirely on your device — deleting the app removes it permanently.

To request deletion of any crash or analytics data associated with your device's anonymous identifier, contact us at burnclock@friendslog.net and we will submit a deletion request to Firebase on your behalf.

Children's privacy

BurnClock is rated 4+ on the App Store and Everyone on Google Play. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). Because we collect no personal identifiers, the app is safe for all ages.

If you believe we have inadvertently received personal data from a child, contact us at burnclock@friendslog.net immediately.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws. Because BurnClock collects no personal identifiers, most of these rights are satisfied by default. You may still:

Request data deletion Opt out of analytics (disable in iOS/Android settings) Contact us with privacy questions
California residents

BurnClock does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. No opt-out mechanism is required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice or an update to the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of BurnClock after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
